Description of PP strapping machine:

ADVANTAGES

1. Tempering purpose

Tempering is to eliminate the internal stress generated by PP strapping tape during stretching, improve the toughness and dimensional stability of strapping tape, and prevent the strapping tape from deformation or breakage during use.

2. Tempering steps

1. Heating treatment

• Choose the right temperature:

• Generally speaking, the tempering temperature of PP (polypropylene) strapping tape is between 120 - 160°C.

• If the temperature is too low, the internal stress cannot be effectively eliminated; if the temperature is too high, the strapping tape will be over-softened or even melted.

• Heating method:

• Common heating methods include hot air heating and infrared heating. Our machine uses hot air heating.

• Hot air heating heats the strapping tape by circulating hot air. The heating is uniform but the efficiency is relatively low.

• Infrared heating directly heats the surface of the strapping tape using infrared radiation. The heating speed is fast, but it is necessary to control the radiation intensity to avoid overheating of the surface.

2. Holding time

• Determine the holding time:

• The holding time depends on the thickness and material of the strapping tape. Generally speaking, the holding time of PET strapping tape is 3 - 5 seconds/mm thickness, and the holding time of PP strapping tape is 2 - 4 seconds/mm thickness.

• For example, for a 2mm thick PET strapping tape, the holding time should be between 6 - 10 seconds.
